CruiseAppy announces the launch of its platform in the UK, USA and Australia to transform customer engagement for cruise sellers with its Mobile App and Video Streaming Service.
CruiseAppy… the Netflix style platform for the cruise industry.
CruiseAppy is a start-up transforming Mobile App & Video Streaming services for Cruise Sellers (Travel Agents, Consortia, Cruise lines & Port Destinations) across the globe, creating branded Apps combined with video streaming services that can be broadcast via the App available on iOS and Android devices, , SKY TV in the UK and Social Media Channels.
Liverpool, England / October 3th 2019, CruiseAppy today announces the launch of its platform, providing cruise sellers with a powerful new channel for customer engagement and sales creation.
Developed over the course of the last 12 months, working in collaboration with successful cruise travel agents and a test customer base of just under 10,000 App users across key customer personas, the platform has been refined and features developed to inspire, convert & connect cruise buyers and of course encourage devotion to the Cruise Sellers brand.
The platform is the brainchild of Peter Whittle , Co-founder/CEO & Peter Aland, Co-founder/CTO, who have many years experience of advising global cruise sellers on technology and digital content implementation to deliver business impact.
Peter Whittle said “Our pilot industry partners have found the app very powerful for booking & enquiry generation (generating 5.5% response rates in tests to date), especially when used in conjunction with push notifications linked to new offers or ship launches and also video content in the Live TV area that can really “tell the story” of the cruise itinerary and why its right for the client. The profile area and booking area provides a countdown to booked cruises for customer engagement to cross sell other services and also hold customer booking documentation (which they can share with other members of the booked group party) which clients really like and cut down on operational overhead for the agency call centre.
Other agents we are developing the app for are focusing on the Cruise Price Alert function ,which notifies clients of fare price changes for interested cruise itineraries and cabin types.
This plus lots of other features such as Cruise Chat to keep clients in touch with their personal cruise travel agent concierge, loyalty programmes to provide benefits for repeat purchasers & world class content for port destinations all mapped to itineraries make the App an incredible useful benefit for cruise sellers clients. Further “in cruise” App features are being developed including interactive walking tours in port destinations linked to discounts at key attractions and integration of the Open table APi to allow clients to beat the queue for popular restaurants as they sail into port, all linked to the Apps geo location.
The platform of course comes with a powerful search tool featuring all world wide cruise lines and can be linked via API to ensure the agents commercial fares are featured with each cruise line and match pricing rules applied to other sales channels (eg website or call centre) . Auto population of enquires into the agents CRM and booking details from the agents back office is also available.”
Peter Aland said “We have a very innovative and ambitious roadmap for the platform, driven by customer feedback and testing. Including voice activated features and more services linked to geo locations, which we will be announcing in the coming months. We also have API integrations in play with a leading Cruise back office technology provider”
CruiseAppy have already secured a number of major industry partners in the UK and anchor partners in the USA & Australia that will be announced shortly, along with 2 significant industry partnerships.
Something a mere website can just not deliver:
How customers research and book holidays has changed dramatically over the last few years. Of all online holiday bookings, 55% now originate from search activity on the mobile phone and this is set to grow further.
At the same time, how customers consume TV & Video is changing with streaming Video On Demand services such as Netflix, Amazon & YouTube overtaking PayTV usage and even Broadcast TV in some key demographics. 78% of online video is now viewed via smartphone (BMR Business Statistics 2018)
In addition to this, PA Consulting research shows 60% of consumers say they are interested in taking a cruise but only 7% are actually booking, due to a lack of knowledge and inspiration to make that first purchase.
Nevertheless, the Cruise market continues to grow, with exciting new product, more capacity and a broad range of holiday experiences for customers to enjoy.
This represents a massive opportunity for the innovative cruise seller to inspire, connect and drive devotion for cruise holidays, using the latest Mobile App technology and video streaming service, packaged under their travel agency brand….. something a mere website can just not deliver.
